Sheeeeeeeiiiiiiittttt.
Well V-Bouys and Ghouls, it looks like VIGILANTE is on a lil' sabbatical. On Sunday my domicile was burglarized and my sole portal to the intricacies of the musical cosmos (my laptop) was stolen from me by some gay-ass big nosed faggot. Not the gay kind, but the kind that steals your fucking laptop. Anyways, I'll be taking a break from mixing, live performance, and production as my only means of doing any of those is now in some meth cookers grandma's basement. I'll be back, with a vengeance, but I gotta score some billz doing things I'm not proud of first. Because I could care less about this bullshit right now, here's another sick video from Yolanda be Cool. If you don't like, then yous a hata. Don't expect anything truly new from me until about May. I know, it hurts me too.

Retro Flashback TUESDAY!
It's weird to think this video came out more than 12 years ago... I can still remember coming home from school and seeing this on Much Music. Ah, those were the days. Anyways, I was reminded of this song today when one of my Profs played it for my Roman Religions class. It doesn't have much to do with Roman religion, but the art style is freakin amazing and you rarely if ever see animation like this these days. Check this shit out, and get yer grunge on

We no do nothin lately
Well, I haven't really done much in a while. I'm in a funk. A deep funk. will you use your love to get me out? Probably not, but can you blame a guy for asking? VIGILANTE is gettin his name out around town, I played a pretty slammin party last weekend, many said it was the best party they've ever been to. Was it all thanks to VIGILANTE? You be the judge (yes, it was). New mix should come out next week with an original tune popped in for good measure
Anyway, this first video is your (and my) new favourite song. Yolanda be Cool and DCUP are australian based djs, and with a bangin balkan track like this, I don't see how they can't make it big. The second video is a bit older, but it was my favourite tune from the Woodwork festival that went on on friday. Massive dubstep show to open er up, followed by a solid (if not repetive and pretty unoriginal) set by Brodinski. Calvin Harris really made the show, with his siiiiiiiick line up of disco house tracks, and surprisingly good DJ skills. He had motherfuckers wearin chicken costumes on stage for christ sakes! He was followed up by Laidback Luke, who put on a siiiiiiick set as well, but I was fuckin tired by that point, and he didn't blow me away with anything. Anyways, check out these songs and FOR THE LOVE OF JOVE DOES ANYONE ACTUALLY READ THIS SHIT? if you do, I promise you 1/16 of my sizeable empire when I die for your esteemed patronage. VIGILANTE cares, does anyone care for him? (send naked pictures (no dudes))

Walkin Down the Riva
Meh, haven't posted anything in a lil' while, though don't fret, I'm working on a few remixes and a new mix should be out soon (as soon as I figure out how the fuck ableton works...). Anyways, to tide you over, here's a fuckin sick track about wearing nikes and being the shit, which basically sums up the majority of my life. Also, here's the official Riva Starr video/audio mix of I was Drunk and Black Cat White Cat (black cat white cat being your new favourite song). This video version is a little different than the original as it's mixed around a bit, also the video editing goes fucking amazing with the music, so check it out.

New Dutch/VIGILANTE Hip Hop colab
Brand new track made this afternoon when Dutch and I went to visit our old highschool in Toronto (Royal St. George's College). Kinda full of lyrics you won't really get if you haven't been our old school, but the beats are dope and the rhymes are decent for spending less than an hour trying to make a song. This song is dedicated to all those motherfuckers who've ever heard of Respect, Responsibility and Voice.

Questa Volta....
Here's the official video for the Crookers/Dargen D'amico Hip Hop colab. This version of the song has a way different beat from the video I posted a few weeks ago, so check it out. I'm expecting big things from Dargen and the Crookers in the future, Phra and Bot are finally settlin in as true blue Hip Hop producers, which is where they belong in this Wop's opinion. Check out FESTA and all the remixes on the iTunes store.
Bangkok Dangerous
Boris Dlugosh slammin down a dirty beat. What more can anyone really ask for?
Money.

Heya V-boys and girls, in lieu of the fact that I haven't released anything "new" from my own personal stash in the past couple weeks, here's a short lil mix I made back in June before I really knew what I was doing at all. This mix may be a little weak in parts, but the tracklist is fuckin solid and for the most part is a very enjoyable listen. Also, look at for a Dutch remix to be released in the coming weeks (I gave up on it in January, but now I'm trying to kick a few habits so makin music is all i got)

You lookin for trouble? You came to the right place.
Pink is Punk describes themselves as a "new wave" band, but in actuality, they are just a fuckin sick DJ/Production duo from Milan. I know, I know, you're probably thinking, "But VIGILANTE, all you ever post on your blog is Italian DJs!" Well, you're wrong. I also post Hip Hop and other tasty jams from around the world, but when it comes to DJs, Italians do it better (as long as they're not from the shitty south). Anyways, check this track out. Kinda bouncy, but also very subtle and subdued at the same time.

A Song for the Dead
A brand new dirge from French House hero SebastiAn. This "tune" is less a song and more of some sort of weird experiment in creating the most epic build up in the history of electronic music. With a running time of over ten minutes, the beat itself only comes in for about the last two and a half. This song is definitely not for everyone, but damn if I ain't happy to see Sebastian back on the scene creating weird ass music.

The Fokken Answer
South Africa, will you ever change? This is by far some of the freshest hip hop to come out of the African continent since the slave trade (sorry, bad joke; but honestly, lighten up a bit ya tight ass). Not only do they mix sweet accents with sick beats and rhymes, but that weird chicken kid from youtube is also in some of their songs. Check out Dei Antwoord on youtube to check it out for yourself

Long time, No see
Sorry folks for the serious lack of updates lately, basically I've been super busy with school, new courses, getting drunk at all the awesome shows that have been popping into town the last few weeks. Basically I've turned into a nerd who spends everynight getting viciously fucked up. Last night I got the supreme pleasure of gettin high as balls and seeing Rusko, King Cannibal, Kimberly Kitty, and Brodinski within the span of seven hours. Kimberly Kitty, a native of our fine snowy town, opened up the Brodinski set with a show that literally blew my pants off. Between the women in cat masks dancing on stage, and the minimal tech house blasting in the near empty club, it was the raddest way to make the transition from IglooFest Drum Step to the starry sounds of Brodinski. Brodinski, as I'm sure I don't have to tell you, put on one hell of a show. Made my YEAR. Anyways, here's a bunch of songs n shit to compensate for my time in cognito. Hopefully you still all like good music. (also expect a mix or something soon...)
