Buy Your Own Damn Fries

Alright music addicts, here's another brand new track from my buddy Dutch, only available through VIGILANTE Cares. This track has some super sweet barack obama samples and is sure to move a crowd. More original songs coming soon and look out for a VIGILANTE/Dutch collaboration in the new year

HOLY SHIT! Excluzive VIGILANTE Track! Download!

Alright V-boys and girls, this is the first track off of my upcoming album (which should be released this summer on Absolutely No Label). This is still a pretty rough mix, I gotta get rid of some backround noise and tweak around a bit with the levels, but other than that, a pretty solid track so far. This song is made using garageband with almost all noises sampled from sonic the hedgehog 3 on the sega genesis (Please don't sue me Sega). Anyways, give it a listen and gimme some feedback, I'd like to hear some constructive criticism on how to improve the track.

Merry Christmas Motherfuckers!

yeah, yeah, couple hours late. Deal with it. I've basically been doing nothing the last week or so, so not much new to report on the music scene... i had a baked ham for xmas dinner? It was damn good. You'd never imagine how much pork skin a man could actually eat, but really, it was a lot. Hope y'all are ready for new years, which unlike christmas, is purely centered around alcohol.

Anyways, Happy Hip-Hop-Holidays

Da Torino a Gorizia

The last couple o months have had me pretty much obsessed with getting back to my family roots and finding as much new music from the motherland. My grandparents came from Udine, far to the Northeast of the Italian peninsula. What I recently discovered, as many others have, is that Northern Italian djs and producers are some of the best in the world right now (in my opinion anyways). With big names like the Crookers, Bloody Beetroots, and Congorock making international house-heads lose their shit on the dancefloor, you can see how there's probably a lot more where that came from. Italo-house in the last few years has been characterized by big bass, hip hop influence, 4 to the floor beats, and catchy hooks. Scuola Furano, signed to an Udinese record label called Riotmaker, are the newest duo to make me realize why I love electronic music so much. Posted below is a pretty SICK mix, and I posted one of their most famous songs a couple of posts ago (the youtube video). Most of my mixes try to incorporate a lil italo sound, so you'll be hearing from Scuola Furano, Fare Soldi, Amari, Useless Wooden Toys, and His Majesty Andre in upcoming mixes.

The FUTURE

Sorry folks, no new mixes for the next two weeks... I know, I've been slow with my releases but honestly, fuck y'all for rushing me. That's not cool, I though we were pals... Anyways, I should still be posting discovered music/videos/and whatnot until I return to Montreal in January (no mixers at home). I SHOULD be releasing the first of a couple VIGILANTE produced tracks in the next week or so, depending on how much weed I smoke per day. Keep your eyes peeled on this site for these new tracks, but until then, here's a couple of Toronto boys who know how to party like its 1993.

I love Animals

HOLY SHIT, just stumbled upon this track while surfing the interweb earlier today. Back in October, Me and a few buddies went and saw Major Lazer and Crookers at Metropolis in Montreal. Probably the most amazing concert/dj set I've ever seen in my life (it helped that I was fucking flying at the time), but anyways, there are a few tracks I can remember from the show as being so mind blowingly amazing that I still get high just from hearing those beats. Ladies and gents, this is one of those tracks. Not really a "dancey" song, but holy fuck, will it send shivers up your spine.

Rex 4

HOLY SHIT FOLKS. First of the brand new tracks you won't find anywhere else. EXCLUSIVE VIGILANTE release. This track was produced by a good friend of mine from way back, and this is officially his first single. Not at all a bad tune, in my opinion. Dutch and myself should be collaborating in the future, so expect to see more exclusive tracks coming your way.

Upcoming Shows

It's official, Montreal has become lame for the winter. With Udachi and other underground artists showing up at, dare I say it, The Social in Toronto for the next couple months, us franco-fucks have nothing to look forward to... Until February. February brings us Congorock on the 11th, and Vitalic on the 25th. Congorock is Milanese DJ known for teaming up with The Bloody Beetroots and Crookers. He's got a pretty fat ghetto sound, and frequently mixes using old school video game samples. I Like! Vitalic is a french DJ with a French sound, can't really explain it better than that. Anyways, both these shows are gonna be put on by I Love Neon, so I encourage all V-Fans to turn out and get rowdy.

ALSO Congorock is gonna be playing at The Social (in Toronto) for New Years. Show up and VIGILANTE will sign your tits free of charge

Congorock - Runark

I'm so high that i can't speak....

Yoyo V-fans. So I spent the weekend in Quebec City checking out the sights, takin the bus, gettin so drunk that skating seemed like a good idea. All in all a fun weekend. I'd recommend the trip to anyone who has the means to get there. Anyhoo, work on the new mix has already started thanks to the positive feedback from the last one, so expect THAT soon.
Here's a little preview, that is to say, this song is FUCKIN sick.

Being a private eye ain't always easy, but it does have its Perks

Check dis wan rude boy, Herve just released this album about 2 months ago, and it recently made its way onto my harddrive. Half the album is an unmixed assortment of new songs, some by Herve, and the other half is a bonafide Herve mix. Herve, aka Count of Monte Cristal, is an English DJ and producer and, frankly, never fails to impress. This album is a crazy mix of ghettotech, house, and dub, making it an obvious favourite of mine. I've posted one of the more interesting tracks from the album here, but if ya got any sense, you should download the album from the torrent link below. Expect to see some of these songs in upcoming mixes.

Badoom Daboom

Hey, you know what's awesome? Paying thirty bucks to go hang out with a rapper (who won't be doing any rapping, he's "hosting") at some overhyped supper club. There's nothing more I'd rather do than watch as some "celebrity" gets free drinks and hits on jailbait while kids who think they're classy run to the bathroom to spray puke and coke all over their 400 dollar armani shoes. Anyways, I still think this song is pretty sick

(Also, expect a mix by the end of the week at the latest, I know I promised one for today, but the event on friday got cancelled, so I gotta make time in my busy ass schedule to sit down and mix for a couple hours)

I get high, but my feet never leave the ground

Some days are just really long and tedious. Don't matter how much work you get done, there's always more getting added to the end of your chain. Startin to look like you'll never be able to take a break ever again? Just get yourself high

Jedi Mind has really gone down hill the last couple of years, but this track is definitely one of their bests off of the first album. Don't really have much more to say..... Bass heavy and funky, this track is key to winding down a good night, or finishing up a dirty mix. Download this track you filthy mutha fuckers

Smoke Some Dro

This is a pretty crunchy tune I came upon a lil' while back. I quite like it, hope you do to.

It's a long way from MTL to Dachau....

Here's a little tune that's been stuck in my head lately. Kinda makes you wanna break something. It's pretty hard to find shit like this these days, even with the wonderful intynet.

Musica Meh Mix

Here's a quick mix I made this afternoon just to showcase the dirty shit you'll find in later mixes. It didn't come out how I hoped, but it's still pretty good. Suck on this one you sly mutha fuckas. The ending might be a little fucked up, who knows how it happened. Just remember that the end should be the end. If anyone actually gets this I'll post a track list

VIGILANTE HAS ARRIVED

The long awaited arrival of one of the greatest heroes of all time has just occurred in Montreal. Vigilante has taken many names in the past, some you might be familiar with, others that are lost to the annals of time. Vigilante has come to the warm sunny plains of Quebec to save the helpless plebeians from musical annihilation. Vigilante Cares
