The last couple o months have had me pretty much obsessed with getting back to my family roots and finding as much new music from the motherland. My grandparents came from Udine, far to the Northeast of the Italian peninsula. What I recently discovered, as many others have, is that Northern Italian djs and producers are some of the best in the world right now (in my opinion anyways). With big names like the Crookers, Bloody Beetroots, and Congorock making international house-heads lose their shit on the dancefloor, you can see how there's probably a lot more where that came from. Italo-house in the last few years has been characterized by big bass, hip hop influence, 4 to the floor beats, and catchy hooks. Scuola Furano, signed to an Udinese record label called Riotmaker, are the newest duo to make me realize why I love electronic music so much. Posted below is a pretty SICK mix, and I posted one of their most famous songs a couple of posts ago (the youtube video). Most of my mixes try to incorporate a lil italo sound, so you'll be hearing from Scuola Furano, Fare Soldi, Amari, Useless Wooden Toys, and His Majesty Andre in upcoming mixes.
